I am a Product Manager living in Denver, Colorado. I help companies grow by leveraging the people around me to solve the right problems at the right time. I get excited thinking about Jobs-to-Be-Done, A/B testing, and how to motivate people.

Recipe for a Product Manager

There’s no single path into the product world. Mine started out in music where jazz improvisation gave me my confidence and willingness to be flexible, then moved into accounting where becoming a CPA made me detail oriented, and finally arrived at product management where I learned how to leverage those around me to solve the right problems at the right time.

Hotel Engine

I joined Hotel Engine to reimagine the B2B travel experience. We’re making business travel easier for businesses, more affordable for travelers, and a better experience for our hotel partners.

2019-2020

OnDeck

At OnDeck I led our product efforts on the collections side of the business. During these volatile times, we built new products and functionality that empowered our collections team, provided our customers with relief, and positioned the business for growth.

2016-2019

uSell

I joined uSell to lead the company's B2B efforts as they pivoted in strategy. How do you build a marketplace for a product that is slightly different from unit to unit in a way that scales and serves customers of all sizes? Using techniques learned from The Toyota Way, we were able to grow the business by improving operations and building a SaaS software solution to solve problems impacting procurement, warehouse management, and sales.

2015-2016

The Last Machine

We created The Last Machine as a hands-on guide to leading-edge hardware. By testing products in and out of their intended environments, at the earliest stage in their adoption, The Last Machine called-out innovation that was daring and well-executed.

2012-2014

Booker Software

At Booker I was tasked with building the next generation reporting and analytics used by 9,000+ businesses in 70+ countries around the globe. How do you build a reporting infrastructure that caters to businesses of all sizes in an array of industries that feels both natural and easy to use?

2009 - 2012

EisnerAmper

I earned my CPA at EisnerAmper where I had the opportunity to explore the ins and outs of manufacturers and hedge funds through audit. It was an eye opening experience getting a first hand view of what it takes to be able to run a business from internal controls to operations, warehousing, accounting, and finance.

My Process

Getting Started - I want to learn as much as I can about the industry, our customers, and our users. Knowing this and our current state can help define the problems we want to solve so that we can use the tools in my bag to help validate which problems are the right problems to prioritize.

Team Building - We are only as strong as our weakest link. It is our job to learn from one another and build each other up. I believe in continuous improvement and learning as a team. Sometimes it involves books and sometimes it involves baked goods and games.

Strategy - We can’t have “all-the-things” but we can work towards a future state. I believe in breaking down the business’s goals and tying them to metrics that can be achieved by my team. Once we know where we want to be, we can figure out how we’re going to get there and what success means.

Build - From the kickoff, we collaborate early and often. I make sure that everyone understands the “why” that comes with each story. Understanding why we’re doing the work we do leads to better development, better testing, and better results.

Learn - I dig into the results so that we can understand our outcomes and communicate them across the company.

Iterate - Continuous improvement for ourselves and our work. It is an endless cycle of growth.

Celebrate - I believe it is important to recognize our work in both victory and defeat. We put our hearts and soul into our projects and we should give credit where it is due.
